Well.. when a girl over imbibes at a yelp event, you have to eat something afterwards. So some grub always hits the spot.
Friendly place, friendly atmosphere and on the way to liverpool street. Just the place to temp you on the way home! -

I paid a visit to Pera after a few drinks and after some good experiences at the Dalston side of town with Turkish I thought I would grab a seat and check it out. Sadly I was left slightly disappointed.
Mains were about £8 which isn't too bad at all however the dishes weren't quite as tasty as I hoped. On it's own it would probably be a decent enough place however with so many other Turkish options available in the area I don't think I'll be back to Pera -

Glad I walked over from Ace Hotel to grab a bite to eat there. I haven't had a Turkish Charcoal cooked meal, so this was entirely new to me. The lamb chops were exceptional! For £12 or so, can't remember, I got way more than I was expecting; beyond filling.. A box of rice (cooked to perfection), a huge/thin delicious bread, and a box of various shaved vegetables. While waiting I watched them cook my meal. They were genuinely enthusiastic about making everything by hand (in order words, I could tell they had a real passion for cooking). Everything was done to perfection. I honestly was not expecting such care with my food. Inside was spotless with a really relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.

It was late, I was tired, and my jet-lagged stomach was ravenous. I stumbled outside of the hotel across the street and pulled out my phone to find something good nearby. No data. No Yelp. Shrugging, I turned off my targeting computer and decided to use the force instead. Kebabs sounded exactly like the kind of food that would help my confused American body sleep well, so I staggered into Pera and ordered the lamb shish plate. After being shocked by the prices of some other Shoreditch venues, I was astonished to trade less than £10 for some gorgeously tender lamb kebabs on a bed of rice, salad, and possibly some of the best mediterranean bread I've ever had. I got my food takeaway, and waited no longer than 10 minutes to receive my order. Good service, good price, great food. What more you need?

This was the best kebab I have had in London. They don't have the spinning meat thing. Instead they grill the meat when you place your order. The bread is also quite good. Lamb kebab was five pounds
